JUST NOW: Kentucky announces Lamont Butler out for showdown with Tennessee…

Kentucky travels to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers on Tuesday night in a game with huge implications in the SEC.

The teams released their injury report for the game, and the Wildcats will be without a key player in this game as Lamont Butler will be unable to go.

The loss of Butler is a big one for the Wildcats, as he has been the best perimeter player for Kentucky this season. He is averaging 13.2 PPG, while also leading the team with 4.8 APG and 1.8 SPG, but he will miss this game due to a shoulder injury.

Kentucky got the season off to a fast start, as it won 10 of its first 11 games. However, the team has struggled as of late, going only 4-4 in its last 8 games. They have lost their last 2 games to Alabama and Vanderbilt, both by 5 total points.

While he is out this game, right now it doesn’t seem to be an injury that will keep him out for an extended period of time.

The Wildcats will tipoff Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET, and the game will be on ESPN.
