Head Coach Sean Payton has added Darren Rizzi to the coaching staff as Assistant Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator. Rizzi, 54, previously worked with Payton on the New Orleans Saints from 2019 to 2021 and served as the Saints’ interim head coach for eight games in 2024, achieving a 3-5 record. His NFL coaching career began in 2009 with the Miami Dolphins, where he spent ten seasons in various roles, including Special Teams Coordinator.

Bo Nix: The rookie quarterback had an impressive debut season, throwing for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns, leading the Broncos to the playoffs. Analyst Terry Bradshaw praised Nix’s poise under pressure, comparing his calmness to elite quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes.

 

Nik Bonitto: The linebacker recorded 13.5 sacks during the 2024 season, becoming the first Broncos player to achieve double-digit sacks since 2018. He also scored two defensive touchdowns, including a 70-yard interception return against the Cleveland Browns.

 

Marvin Mims Jr.: The wide receiver and return specialist was named to the 2024 Pro Bowl and the All-Pro Team for his exceptional performance, which included a kick return touchdown and significant contributions on offense.

 

P.J. Locke: The safety received the Broncos’ 2024 Ed Block Courage Award, recognizing his dedication to rehabilitation after injuries and his inspiring effort throughout the season.

The Broncos concluded the 2024-25 NFL regular season with a 10-7 record, securing third place in the AFC West division. They ended the season with a commanding 38-0 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 18, clinching their first playoff berth since 2015.
