Mavericks Coach Leaves Team Following Decision to Trade Luka Doncic

In the wake of the Dallas Mavericks’ decision to trade star point guard Luka Doncic, one coach of the team has departed from the organization. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, coach Marko Milić has left the team following the trade of Doncic.

Milić was the first Slovenian to play in the NBA and decided that he didn’t want to stay with the Mavericks without Doncic. Milić had been with the Mavericks since joining head coach Jason Kidd’s staff in 2022.

Milić has strong ties to Doncic from his time as an assistant coach with the Slovenian national team. The news of Dallas trading Doncic likely rubbed him the wrong way and he clearly wants no part of the Mavericks organization anymore.

It remains to be seen what will happen with his career but there is always a chance of a reunion with Doncic in Los Angeles. The Lakers will likely want to keep Doncic happy and if bringing Milić aboard will do that, it will be an easy decision.

This news of Milić leaving the team comes shortly after comments from Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont came out. It was the first time that Dumont had spoken publically since the trade of Doncic and his comments likely will enrage many fans.

SAD NEWS :DALLAS mavericks coach Jason Kidd  was rushed to hospital for misuse of drugs..

Recent Concerns Surrounding Jason Kidd’s Health and Conduct

Jason Kidd, the esteemed head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, has recently faced scrutiny due to incidents involving substance misuse. Notably, in July 2012, Kidd was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI) in Southampton, New York. The incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. when Kidd’s vehicle collided with a telephone pole. Upon arrival, officers observed signs of intoxication, including a strong smell of alcohol and bloodshot eyes. Kidd was subsequently transported to a local hospital for minor injuries before being taken to police headquarters for processing. He was released on his own recognizance and later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor DWI charge.

In another incident in March 2010, Kidd was involved in a case concerning drug-induced homicide. He was indicted for allegedly delivering cocaine to his girlfriend, Meredith Castro, who later died from its ingestion. The court proceedings highlighted the complexities surrounding causation in such cases.

More recently, in December 2014, while coaching the Milwaukee Bucks, Kidd’s management style drew attention. He held a Christmas Eve practice that left player Larry Sanders hospitalized due to physical exhaustion. The rigorous session, which included intense drills and pool exercises, led to Sanders experiencing full-body cramps.

These incidents have sparked discussions about Kidd’s personal conduct and coaching methods. While he has faced legal challenges in the past, including a guilty plea for spousal abuse in 2001, his more recent actions continue to shape public perception.

As of March 2025, there have been no widely reported incidents of Jason Kidd being hospitalized for drug misuse. It’s crucial to distinguish between past events and current situations to ensure accurate understanding. For the most up-to-date information, consulting reputable news sources is recommended.

Stunning Summer Trade: Phoenix Suns Shake Up Roster with Blockbuster KD Swap to Dallas Mavericks GM Nico Harrison confirmed details below…..

NBA insider reveals how strongly Nico Harrison felt about trading Luka Doncic image
The Dallas Mavericks may have made the most shocking trade in NBA history by trading Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers. It may even be a while before the shock for everyone involved. However, behind closed doors, more intel has revealed that the Mavericks had concocted the idea of trading Dončić months before it happened. NBA insider Marc Stein reported that Mavericks General Manager Nico Harrison had thought about trading Dončić during the 2024 offseason.

Yet naturally now, with a bit of distance from the initial shock, you have begun to hear more of the whispers that the Mavericks had somehow concealed for months,” Stein wrote. “Whispers via league sources suggesting that Dallas’ decision-makers, most notably general manager Nico Harrison, no longer wanted Planet Mavericks to orbit around Dončić and had grown determined to trade him by this summer at the latest.”

Dončić was lambasted for his performance during the 2024 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, specifically for his defense. However, the Mavericks were coming off their first appearance in the final round since winning the title in 2011.

sad news:Dallas mavericks coach Jason Kidd announce to sell the club Dut to his misunderstanding with the manager…

Jason Kidd has been a maligned coach throughout his coaching tenure, as stops with the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks didn’t end well. He admitted to ESPN’s Tim McMahon he was still learning how to coach and didn’t really learn how to put it all together until he was on Frank Vogel’s LA Lakers staff, where they won a championship together. Now that he’s in charge of the Dallas Mavericks with some high-profile personalities, Dallas believes they have the perfect coach for their situation.

McMahon talked about a lot of things in Thursday morning’s piece about Kidd, but the biggest revelation was how revered he is by his players and how that puts him in a unique situation to lead the Mavs.

Kyrie Irving had a disappointing end to his tenure with the Boston Celtics and Nets and was seen as a toxic character to have in a locker room. When the Mavs traded for him for pennies on the dollar, no one thought it would work well and that Luka Doncic would ask for a trade before long.

By all accounts, Irving has been a model teammate, and a lot of that has to do with his relationship with Jason Kidd, who was one of Irving’s favorite players growing up in New Jersey. According to McMahon, when Irving was with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he sought out Kidd for dinner in Phoenix, with Irving asking every question he could think of.

Kai is a special dude,” Kidd told ESPN’s Tim McMahon. “He wants to understand the game at the highest level, wants to be pushed to the highest level. And I don’t think he’s afraid of failing. When I say failing, losing or missing a shot, but we’ll come back and learn from that. Kai wants to be coached. Kai wants to be helped to win a championship.”

The two cerebral guards maintained a connection after that, with Irving even attending Kidd’s Hall-of-Fame induction ceremony, and this has been a big reason why Irving has had success in Dallas.

Assistant coach Jared Dudley, who played for Kidd in Milwaukee, praised how Kidd has handled the situation, saying to McMahon, “I’m going to be honest with you, there’s only two or three coaches in the league that have the cachet and personality to be able to coach Luka and Kyrie at the same time and have no problems… You heard all about Kyrie in the last couple places he’s been. You haven’t heard one thing since he’s been in Dallas. Do you think that’s just Dallas, or do you think 80% has to do with Jason Kidd?”

A Dallas Mavericks assistant coach is in custody and is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following an incident with his girlfriend, say officials.

Darrell Armstrong, 56, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday after he allegedly struck his girlfriend on the right side of her face with a gun, according to an arrest affidavit seen by The Dallas Morning News.

Dallas cops were called to Armstrong’s home after receiving a distress call just before 4am Saturday.

When police arrived, they found the victim standing in a nearby parking lot beside her father, according to the affidavit.

Armstrong and the woman are believed to have been dating since September 2024.

The incident is said to have unfolded after Armstrong’s girlfriend read a text from another woman on his phone. This prompted the former point guard turned coach to blow up in a rage, striking his partner in the face with his gun and threatening to shoot her with it, according to the affidavit.

“Armstrong then loaded a full magazine into the pistol and said ‘I’m going to shoot you’”, the affidavit read.

SAD NEWS :Dallas Mavericks player Luka Dončić was rushed to hospital for misuse of drugs..

The Los Angeles basketball rivalry was bound to get more interesting with Luka Dončić on the Lakers, and he delivered on Friday.

The Slovenian star nearly set a new high in his Lakers career with 31 points against the Los Angeles Clippers, a frequent playoff foe during his time with the Dallas Mavericks against whom he averaged 32.6 points per game. The Lakers won 106-102, their fifth straight win as well as their fifth straight win over the Clippers.

Dončić shot 9-of-22 (3-of-9 from 3-point range) with five assists, three steals and six turnovers. The win improves the Lakers’ record to 37-21, keeping them a game behind the Denver Nuggets and the second-best record in the West.

Dončić finished one point off his high with the Lakers, though he still has yet to shoot above .500 in a game with them.

LeBron James also had 28 points and 13 rebounds. It remains an unenviable task for a team to figure out how to stop an offense with two do-everything stars, with at least one on the court at all times. The Clippers entered Friday ranked second in the NBA in defensive rating, though they’ve also lost four of their past five.

The Lakers also lost Austin Reaves, who has emerged as a third star alongside Dončić and James since the big trade, to right calf soreness early in the game. He’ll undergo an MRI on Saturday. Los Angeles was already without starter Rui Hachimura on Friday due to a knee injury.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick said after the game that Reaves was pulled as a precautionary measure, while Hachimura has left patellar tendinopathy and will re-evaluated in a week.

Why Me! Luka Doncic, NBA Star, Laments on His…

Luka Dončić, one of the brightest stars in the NBA, has recently expressed frustration over the challenges he has been facing in what has been a turbulent season for the Dallas Mavericks. Known for his exceptional talent and ability to take over games, Dončić has been at the center of both his team’s successes and shortcomings. Despite his individual brilliance, he’s been vocal about how some obstacles seem to be stacking up, both on and off the court.

The Growing Burden of Expectations

Dončić has been widely regarded as one of the best young players in the NBA. His ability to dominate games from almost any position on the floor has made him a fan favorite and a cornerstone for the Mavericks’ future. However, with his rise to stardom, the expectations placed on him have grown exponentially. Whether it’s the pressure of carrying a franchise or the weight of leading a team that often seems to be a few pieces away from contention, Dončić has admitted that the stress of these responsibilities can feel overwhelming.

In a recent interview, Dončić shared his feelings of being trapped in a cycle of high expectations that are hard to meet. “Sometimes I wonder why me?” he confessed, noting the personal toll the pressure takes on him. His candid remarks reveal a side of an athlete that is often hidden beneath the glitz and glamour of stardom. Fans and analysts expect greatness every time he steps on the floor, but behind that façade, Dončić faces the same human struggles as anyone.

Injuries and Fatigue Taking a Toll

This season, Dončić has battled through a series of minor injuries, adding to the strain of playing a long and demanding season. He’s mentioned how physical fatigue, combined with the mental strain of constant games, can be difficult to overcome. Dončić has also shared how the relentless schedule leaves little time for rest or recovery, which contributes to the growing feeling of exhaustion. As a result, his performance has fluctuated at times, leaving fans wondering if injuries are impacting his usual level of play.

Dončić has always played through pain, but his vulnerability is now more visible as he reflects on the mental toll of the grind. “There are times when I wish I could just get a break, mentally and physically. It feels like it’s all on my shoulders,” Dončić admitted, showing that even the brightest stars are human. His comments offer insight into the often unseen challenges that NBA players face, particularly those who carry such heavy burdens.

The Mavericks’ Lack of Support and Team Struggles

While Dončić’s individual brilliance is undeniable, many fans and analysts believe that the Mavericks are lacking a strong supporting cast around him. In recent seasons, despite his excellence, the team has failed to make significant progress in the postseason. This season, the Mavs have struggled with consistency and team chemistry, leaving Dončić often in a position where he must carry the team on his own.

In his lament, Dončić pointed out that while he loves his teammates, the reality is that the Mavs are still not at the level required to compete with the top-tier teams in the West. The absence of a reliable second star, consistent defense, and the lack of depth on the bench have been recurring issues for Dallas. “We are still figuring out a lot of things,” Dončić said, acknowledging that the team’s lack of cohesion is something he feels deeply. It’s clear that Dončić is not just frustrated with his personal challenges but also with the larger team dynamics that have been hindering the Mavericks’ progress.

The Mental Health Strain on Athletes

The mental health aspect of Dončić’s comments cannot be overlooked. As one of the NBA’s brightest stars, he is under constant public scrutiny, and the pressure to perform at a high level every game can take its toll. Dončić has previously been open about the importance of mental well-being, and his recent lament is a reminder that even superstars are not immune to stress, burnout, and doubt.

In a culture that often prioritizes physical strength and performance, Dončić’s openness about his mental struggles is refreshing. His comments shed light on a broader issue in professional sports: the need to support athletes mentally as well as physically. Dončić’s reflections on this matter could encourage others in similar positions to open up about their struggles and seek the necessary help to manage the pressures of their careers.

Conclusion: A Superstar’s Vulnerability

Luka Dončić’s emotional outpouring shows that even the most gifted athletes face struggles that can’t always be seen on the court. His frustrations reveal the burdens that come with stardom, from the constant pressure to win to the personal toll it can take on his health. As Dončić continues to navigate this challenging season, one thing is clear: he’s not just battling opponents on the court, but also dealing with the complexities of being a superstar in the public eye.As fans, it’s important to remember that behind every highlight reel and buzzer-beater, there’s a person who, like everyone else, faces challenges that can sometimes feel too overwhelming to handle. Whether or not Dončić’s season improves, his vulnerability reminds us that athletes are not immune to the pressures of life, and sometimes, it’s okay to ask for help.
