David Hancko Snubs Juventus for Al Nassr Move in €30M Transfer Blow
Juventus’ pursuit of David Hancko has officially come to an end after months of monitoring the Slovakian defender. The Italian giants had come close to securing his signature during the January transfer window but failed to reach an agreement with Feyenoord, leaving the 26-year-old in the Netherlands for the remainder of the season.
Hancko’s standout displays in the UEFA Champions League drew interest from several top European clubs, including Atletico Madrid and Juventus. Both clubs were expected to revive their efforts this summer. However, the transfer landscape shifted dramatically in recent weeks.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Hancko has now agreed to join Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr in a deal worth over €30 million. The player was reportedly open to the move, with the opportunity to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo proving to be a major factor in his decision. His choice effectively shuts the door on any potential move to Juventus during this window.
Juventus Unfazed by Transfer Setback
Despite the disappointment, Juventus are not in panic mode. The Bianconeri believe they have sufficient depth in defence and are unlikely to rush into finding a replacement. While Hancko’s versatility and experience would have made him a valuable asset, the club remains confident in its existing options.
The focus at Juventus will now shift to other areas of the squad as the club continues its preparations for the upcoming campaign. With European competition and domestic ambitions in mind, squad balance and reinforcement in other key positions are expected to be prioritised moving forward.
