It’s been a little over a calendar year since the Auburn Tigers secured a commitment from four-star EDGE Hezekiah Harris.
Harris committed to the Tigers on July 27, 2024, and chose them over the LSU Tigers, Clemson Tigers, and Tennessee Volunteers. Harris is the seventh-best recruit in his home state (Alabama) and the No. 13 EDGE recruit in the country, per 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 100 overall recruit, regardless of position.
Even though Harris is committed to the Tigers, he is on flip watch from Rivals’ Chad Simmons. Simmons has Harris ranked fifth on his top ten list of flip targets.
Some of the bigger college football programs are still trying to see if they can poach Harris from the Tigers. He is the second-highest ranked recruit in the Tigers’ 2026 class, right behind four-star linebacker Jaquez Wilkes.
The Tigers are entering a pivotal 2025 season, having performed below expectations over the last two seasons. Head coach Hugh Freeze took over the program before the 2023 season and has compiled an 11-14 record. The Tigers won only five games last season and failed to make a bowl game for the second time in three years.
Auburn will open the 2025 college football season with a bang against Baylor on August 29 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX. The program will then open SEC play against Oklahoma on September 20. A kickoff time will be announced at a later date.
