Former Tennessee football quarterback Harrison Bailey is transferring to Florida, he announced Monday.
Bailey is heading for his fourth school. He spent the past two seasons at Louisville after playing for UNLV in the 2022 season after leaving Tennessee in the middle of the 2021 season.
Bailey has completed 63.2% of his passes for 1,190 yards with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions in four seasons across three programs. He capped his Louisville career by starting in a 35-34 win against Washington in the Sun Bowl after starter Tyler Shough opted out. Bailey completed 16 of 25 passes for 164 yards and three
Bailey entered the transfer portal in October 2021 after sitting as the third-string quarterback behind Hendon Hooker and Joe Milton in 2021 under coach Josh Heupel. He played in one game in the 2021 season, completing 3 of 7 passes for 16 yards and rushing for a touchdown against Tennessee Tech in September before entering the portal.
The Marietta, Georgia, native started the final three games as a freshman in the 2020 season, which featured a revolving door of quarterbacks under fired Vols coach Jeremy Pruitt. He was 48-for-68 passing for 578 yards and four touchdowns in six games in 2020.
He signed with Tennessee as a four-star recruit and the No. 99 overall prospect in the 2020 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Following No. 1 Auburn’s victory over No. 2 Alabama, Bruce Pearl and Auburn players hit the crimson crane at halfcourt.
Broome did briefly leave the game late in the second half with a lower-body injury after an awkward spin move. He returned and made Auburn’s final two shots from the field.
Broome was a dominating force from the beginning — he grabbed his 10th rebound early in the second half, securing the double-double with just under 17 minutes left in the game.
Broome and five teammates finished in double figures. Denver Jones scored 16 points, Chad Baker-Mazara and Miles Kelly added 15 points apiece, Chaney Johnson had 14 and Tahaad Pettiford 13.
Auburn starter Dylan Cardwell fouled out after playing just 12 minutes, Baker-Mazara, who came off the benche, fouled out with just over two minutes remaining. Johnson, who averages 23 minutes, picked up much of the slack, playing 33 minutes as Auburn shot 46% from the field.
Mark Sears scored 18 points and Grant Nelson added 12 points and 12 rebounds for Alabama, which rallied from a double-digit deficit in the game, but failed to complete the comeback.
Oats used the loss as a refocusing opportunity with his team for the three weeks until their next game against the Tigers.
“We’re not in full control of our destiny to win the league outright, but we are in control of our destiny to at least get a tie going forward,” Oats said. “We’ll see the maturity and leadership we have coming in on Monday.”
Just In: Is Nolan Arenado Finally Staying at Cardinals for 2025 after Latest Update?
During their annual holiday party at Busch Stadium, the St. Louis Cardinals looked poised to get the only item on their wish list.
It was the Friday after the Winter Meetings — the same day the Houston Astros agreed to Like an aftershock, word began to spread: After trading Tucker — a move that strongly deviated from the Astros’ usual operations — they were for Nolan Arenado.
Anticipation grew throughout the day. So did momentum.
The Cardinals were on the verge of trading Arenado, their top offseason goal, and they’d not only pulled off a deal, they’d matched with one of the teams on the eight-time All-Star’s short and semi-problematic five-team list of acceptable destinations.
How close? The “1-yard line,” according to a source.
But now, the surreal sight of Arenado reporting back to Cardinals camp this month, greeted by hugs in the parking lot, makes it clear that the 1-yard line is suddenly several football fields away.
“Here we are,’’ Cardinals’ president of baseball operations John Mozeliak said in late January. “Things happen.”
Over the course of a few days, the Astros deal fizzled, undone by an unlikely snag: When Arenado was presented with the trade, he balked.
According to multiple industry sources, Arenado was unsure of multiple things, including the timing of the deal and what direction Houston was trending. Though the Astros were on his original list of trade destinations, the loss of Tucker and the likely loss of free agent Alex Bregman had caused Arenado to reconsider. He wanted more time, sources described, and while he did not tell the Astros “no” definitively, he also did not want to rush into a decision.
Talks with other teams never got that far. The Cardinals had conversations with at least nine organizations — including some surprises. According to an industry source, multiple teams inquired about Arenado early in the offseason, including the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Angels. Those conversations did not yield much, as all three teams were considered non-starters. The Boston Red Sox had emerged as a potential fit until they signed Bregman days before position players were scheduled to report to their designated camps.
It Honors the Character of Summitt A new documentary on the remarkable career of Pat Summitt, the legendary former head coach of the University of Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball team, has been made available on Netflix.
In The Presence of Tennessee Basketball Coach Pat Summitt
A TIME writer recalls encountering the legendary coach, who stepped down on Wednesday, in a more casual setting—and enjoying every minute of it.

It’s somewhat bittersweet that the phenomenal career of University of Tennessee women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt, who is steppingt downstripping almost a year after being diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s, is coming to a close just two months before the 40th anniversary of Title IX, the landmark law that paved the way for greater gender equity in high school and college sports. When Summitt, who piled up 1,098 wins—more than any other college basketball coach—and eight national titles in her 38-year tenure, started at Tennnessee, she drove the van. Her team once slept in an opponent’s gym the night before a game. Now, the Lady Vols, and other successful women’s programs, fly on charters, stay in top-notch hotels, and are a national television staple. No single woman is more responsible for this leap forward than Summitt.
As a journalist, I’ll surely miss Summitt on the sidelines. She is one of the more approachable, candid, and downright fun college coaches around. I first met her in the fall of 2005, when I was profiling a star Tennessee freshman named Candice Parker, who had made national headlines by beating the boys at an all-star dunk contest the previous year. (Parker would lead the Lady Vols to a pair of national titles.) I sat in on a Tennessee practice. You can judge a coach’s competence based on how he or she orchestrates a practice. In games, things unfold that are beyond a coach’s control. In practice, the coach’s whistle controls the flow. Is the practice crisp? Is the coach a constant teacher? Does the coach see things you and I don’t? Are the players paying attention?

The Baltimore Orioles were swept by the Kansas City Royals in the postseason. Anthony Santander was a key player for the team, but he is now a free agent.
While making predictions for the top 50 free agents, one of MLB Trade Rumors’ writers predicted that Santander would sign with the New York Yankees.
NBA OFFICIAL HIGHLIGHTS
“Santander has been 24% better than the average hitter, by measure of wRC+, over the past three seasons (19% over the past five),” wrote the staff. “This year’s home run barrage could prove to be a high point in his career, but he belted 28 homers in 2023 and 33 in 2022. He’s a genuine 30-homer bat who handles himself well from both sides of the plate and can at least capably handle a corner spot for a year or two. That’s an undeniably nice player to have.”
Steve Adams was the only one of four writers to predict Santander signing with the Yankees. The Yankees need a bat like Santander in their lineup who was an All-Star for the first time in his career last season. MLB Trade Rumors predicted him to sign a four-year, $80 million deal in free agency.
SAD news: Dallas Mavericks › Head coach Jason Kidd announce to sell the club Due to his misunderstanding with the manager…
Phil Jackson, a name synonymous with basketball brilliance, is also known for his interest in psychedelics. This intriguing aspect of his personality emerged after his final game as an NBA coach.
Following the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 Western Conference Finals, which marked the end of Jackson’s illustrious coaching career, Dallas head coach Rick Carlisle playfully suggested that Jackson’s retirement might be short-lived. Carlisle joked about Jackson’s post-basketball plans, mentioning meditation in Montana and humorously speculating about the use of peyote.
In response to Carlisle’s remarks, Jackson offered a correction, clarifying the method of peyote consumption. “Well, first of all, you don’t smoke peyote. That’s one thing,” he stated with a knowing smile, subtly acknowledging his familiarity with the substance.
With an unparalleled 11 championships to his name-six with the Chicago Bulls and five with the Los Angeles Lakers-Jackson stands as the most successful coach in the league’s history. However, his legacy extends beyond mere victories; it is deeply intertwined with his unique coaching philosophy.
Known as “The Zen Master,” Jackson integrated principles of Zen Buddhism, mindfulness, and indigenous wisdom into his coaching strategies. He believed that basketball was as much a mental game as it was a physical one, emphasizing the importance of mental fortitude.
Jackson encouraged his players to engage in meditation, practice breathing exercises, and cultivate present-moment awareness. This approach helped basketball icons like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and Shaquille O’Neal develop the mental clarity and resilience necessary to excel under the intense pressure of professional basketball.
For Jackson, coaching was more than just strategizing plays; it was about fostering a state of presence within his players. Whether guiding his team during crucial game moments or seeking tranquility in the vast landscapes of Montana, Jackson pursued a deeper understanding of the game and of himself. He viewed basketball as a vehicle for personal growth and spiritual exploration.

Luka Doncic starting foundation, already studying ways to improve access to youth basketball
DALLAS (AP) — Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic is starting his own foundation, saying his primary goal is to ensure that children learning how to play basketball are doing so the right way and within a positive environment.
The Luka Doncic Foundation will be formally launched Saturday — World Basketball Day. Doncic plans on bringing 750 children from the Dallas area to a Mavericks game that night against the Los Angeles Clippers as his guests.
His foundation has already commissioned what was a five-month study into youth basketball in the U.S. and the Balkan region of Europe. The study’s findings, which will be publicly released Saturday, include that “joy, creativity and exploration are being squeezed out of the game,” the foundation said.
“Basketball has been the joy of my life from day one. I still feel the same things today that I did when I was young. When I’m on the court, having fun, it feels like the ball is smiling back at me,” Doncic said in a release distributed by the foundation. “I want young people around the world to have the same chances to experience that joy.
BREAKING NEWS: Orioles $80 million slugger predicted to cut ties with team in favor of..
The Baltimore Orioles traded for a slugger at the MLB deadline a couple of weeks ago, but are expected to send him to free agency at the end of the season.
As MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand looked around at the league’s big name players with options coming at the end of the season, Eloy Jiminez came up.
“Jimenez’s deal includes club options for 2025 and 2026 ($18.5 million, $3 million buyout), and while the [Chicago] White Sox sent $4 million to the Orioles to pay down almost all of his 2024 salary,” said Feinsand. “It would be a surprise for Baltimore to exercise the option for 2025, though a reunion on a new deal is a possibility.”
The 27-year-old has had an interesting career so far. He broke onto the scene back in 2019 with the White Sox, but struggled to consistently find the field.
Everyone’s seasons got cut short for 2020, so that won’t be held against him, but he has only reached 100 games played in two of his six seasons.

He got off to a very disappointing 2024 in Chicago. He had just a .240/.297/.345. It just didn’t make sense for the worst team in baseball to keep him around rather than flipping him for some future assests.
His name had been floated around as a potential trade piece, but no one could get a good sense on what his trade value would actually look like.
Baltimore was a bit of a shock to be the team that landed him and the price tag was not too high at all.
No. 2 Texas Longhorns Named USBWA Team Of The Week For Second-Straight Week
Senior point guard Rori Harmon called this stretch of the team’s schedule a blood bath as it is one of the toughest stretches for any team in the country.
“We’re enjoying this toughness, we’re enjoying the blood bath, as coach would say, and that’s how we want it every single one but we truly do appreciate our fans like that,” Harmon said.

AUSTIN – After defeating No. 5 LSU and No. 8 Kentucky, the No. 2 Texas Longhorns were named the USBWA Team of the Week for the second week in a row. Currently, on a ten-game win streak, the Longhorns have played and beaten four ranked opponents in the past two weeks.

In its last two home games, Texas drew crowds of over 10,500, selling out the Moody Center. Head coach Vic Schaefer was complimentary of his team’s toughness over the stretch, stating that this league values toughness and the fans appreciate it too.
Battling through injuries, the Longhorns have prevailed and shown their depth, winning despite facing adversity.
“The game honors toughness, and this team has proven now to be pretty tough,” Schaefer said.
This Texas team has not only been playing ranked opponents consistently but has not had a bye week. The team has its first bye this week while other teams have had two breaks. Schaefer is not using this as an excuse for his team but as motivation.
Currently, the Longhorns are at the top of the SEC standings with a record of 12-1 in conference and 26-2 overall. In the AP Poll, the Longhorns are only behind the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who are the only team to beat Texas in non-conference play.
Texas’ next game is Monday, Feb 24 on the road against Georgia.
