Top Georgia RB leads 2025 early Heisman Nominees ahead Notre Dame’s RB Jeremiyah Love, Texas’ QB Arch Manning, South Carolina’s QB LaNorris Sellers and Alabama’s WR Ryan Williams.

While everyone was caught up in debating Travis Hunter vs. Ashton Jeanty for the Heisman Trophy race this season, all indications for some time have been that the two-way star for the Colorado Buffaloes has been running away with the award (and deservedly so by my estimation). But as Hunter accepts college football’s most prestigious individual award on Saturday night, we obviously have to start thinking about next year — more pointedly, next season’s Heisman race.

Considering that we’re a full nine months and change away from the start of the 2025 season, there are some uncertainties when it comes to the 2025 Heisman Trophy race. We don’t know if the likes of potential NFL Draft entrants like Jalen Milroe, Carson Beck, Quinn Ewers and several more will elect to turn pro or return to school (perhaps another school in some cases) to try and improve their draft stock.

Matthew Stafford announces final decision after flirting with trade market…

Former Georgia football quarterback Matthew Stafford has been one of the biggest talking points so far this NFL offseason. Everyone knows that Stafford is one of the best QBs in the NFL, so when rumors circulate that he might be on the move then that will make headlines everywhere.

But there actually weren’t any rumors about Stafford at all, all the news surrounding him were based on factual statements from him and the Los Angeles Rams. Just last week the Rams gave Stafford and his camp permission to explore potential trade destinations, and four teams immediately showed interest. This included the Las Vegas Raiders, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Just last week the Rams gave Stafford and his camp permission to explore potential trade destinations, and four teams immediately showed interest. This included the Las Vegas Raiders, Cleveland Browns, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers.

The assumption was that if the Rams told Stafford to look for a trade destination that his time in Los Angeles would be done. That however appears to not be the case.

According to Senior News Writer Kevin Patra with NFL.com, Stafford and the Rams have come to terms on a new contract that will keep him in LA for at least one more season.

This news is pretty surprising because it isn’t too often that a player returns to their team after being told they can discuss with other teams about a trade. But the Rams and Stafford were able to come to terms on a deal to make that happen. Maybe the trade market for Stafford wasn’t as strong as the Rams thought, or maybe the new agreed upon deal is friendly for the Rams, regardless, Stafford will be with the Rams again next season for his fifth year with the team.

Next season for the Rams will be interesting because the Rams have made it clear that they wish to trade star receiver Cooper Kupp this offseason. Kupp has been one of Stafford’s most reliable targets, so that will be a big hurdle for him and the Rams to overcome.

But Stafford has made the playoffs three times in his four seasons with the Rams, which includes winning the Super Bowl in his first season with the organization, so there is a great chance the Rams will have a good year next season with Stafford at the helm.

However, there’s one former Georgia Bulldog who hasn’t lost confidence in this Georgia team, and Kirby Smart specifically.

Former Georgia running back Herschel Walker had this to share on a recent episode of ‘The Buck Belue Show.’

“I guarantee you this. Coming Saturday Kirby Smart gonna have them ready to play,” Walker shared. “People gonna see how good this team really is… I’m still picking them to win it all… As my great friend Rick Flair said, ‘To be the man, you got to beat the man.'”

Herschel Walker has not lost faith in Kirby Smart and Georgia

When Herschel Walker speaks, Georgia fans should listen. Walker is not only one of the greatest Bulldogs of all time, but he is one of the greatest college football players of all time. So he has earned the right to be trusted whenever he speaks. So if Walker isn’t nervous for Saturday’s game against Tennessee, UGA fans shouldn’t be either.

An exciting new documentary has been announced by Netflix that will reportedly follow the 2024 SEC football season. Upon seeing this news, it was impossible for Georgia football fans to not be extremely excited.

Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs participated in many of the biggest games of the season including their road games at Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas as well as their showdown in Athens against Tennessee. Georgia also took home the SEC Championship against Texas about two weeks ago as well. So it was a safe assumption that Georgia would be heavily featured in this documentary as the champion of the conference.

The Philadelphia Eagles’ plan to draft as many Georgia Bulldogs as possible is clearly working…read more

The Philadelphia Eagles’ strategic focus on drafting Georgia Bulldogs has significantly bolstered their roster, culminating in a Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. This approach has not only enhanced the team’s talent pool but also fostered a cohesive and formidable defense.

Drafting Georgia Bulldogs: A Strategic Move

In recent NFL drafts, the Eagles have prioritized Georgia Bulldogs, selecting key players who have made substantial contributions:

  • 2022 NFL Draft: The Eagles selected defensive tackle Jordan Davis with the 13th overall pick. Davis, known for his exceptional athleticism, recorded his first NFL sack in a Week 2 victory against the Minnesota Vikings in the 2023 season and added another sack in the Super Bowl LIX win over the Chiefs.
  • 2023 NFL Draft: The Eagles continued their focus by drafting defensive tackle Jalen Carter and edge rusher Nolan Smith in the first round. Both players were instrumental in the Eagles’ defensive line, contributing to the team’s overall success.
  • 2024 NFL Draft: The Eagles selected cornerback Kelee Ringo in the fourth round, further strengthening their defense with another Georgia Bulldog.

Impact on Super Bowl LIX

The integration of these Georgia Bulldogs into the Eagles’ roster was pivotal in their Super Bowl LIX triumph:

  • Defense: The defensive line, featuring Davis, Carter, and Smith, was formidable, applying consistent pressure on Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. This defensive prowess was crucial in limiting the Chiefs’ offensive output.
  • Cohesion: The shared experience of winning national championships at Georgia fostered a strong bond among these players, translating into effective on-field communication and teamwork. Their familiarity with each other’s playing styles enhanced the defense’s overall performance.

Looking Ahead

The Eagles’ strategy of drafting Georgia Bulldogs has proven successful, contributing to a Super Bowl victory and strengthening the team’s defensive core. As the team continues to build on this foundation, the synergy among these players is expected to remain a key factor in their pursuit of future championships.

In-state QB reclassification could shake up Georgia’s recruiting board…

One of the most interesting positions to watch for Georgia football so far in the 2026 recruiting cycle has been quarterback. Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs earned a commitment from the No. 1 QB in the country in Jared Curtis last year, but that commitment fell threw as Curtis chose to reopen his recruitment.

However, Georgia has remained in contact with Curtis and they still appear to be one of his top schools right now. There are also three other quarterbacks that Georgia is keeping a pulse on in the 2026 class that all could realistically be the quarterback who ends up in Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class as well.

However, some major news was just released on Monday from a quarterback in the 2027 class that could shake things up for Georgia and who they end up with at quarterback in the 2026 class.

According to On3, quarterback Mason Holtzclaw has officially announced that he has reclassified from the 2027 class and will be joining the 2026 class. On the surface this news doesn’t seem like it would impact Georgia all that much because he is from North Carolina, but acording to Rusty Mansell with On3, Holtzclaw will play his final season of high school football in Georgia.

Holtzclaw has not been ranked in the 2026 class yet, but he is someone that will receive a lot of attention now that he has joined the 2026 recruiting class. It is unclear at this time how interested Georgia will be in Holtzclaw beause they have not yet offered him, but he does hold offers already from Florida State, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Virgina Tech. So it would not be surprising at all to see Georgia offer and get involved.

Time will tell if Georgia does end up showing any interest in Holtzclaw or not, but this news has the chance to really shake things up for Georgia at quarterback in the 2026 class.

Breaking News: Kirby Smart Signs Five-Year Contract with Auburn Tigers, Leaving Georgia Bulldogs for New Challenge

In a shocking turn of events, Kirby Smart, the highly successful head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs football program, has signed a five-year contract with the Auburn Tigers. The unexpected move has sent shockwaves through the college football world, leaving fans, players, and analysts alike stunned. After leading Georgia to a national championship and multiple successful seasons, Smart’s decision to leave Athens for Auburn is already creating waves of speculation about the future of both programs.

Smart, who has been with Georgia since 2016, helped the Bulldogs return to prominence and secured their first national title in over 40 years in 2021. His leadership and ability to recruit top-tier talent helped transform Georgia into one of the most dominant teams in college football. Under his guidance, Georgia consistently ranked among the top teams in the SEC and nationally, winning multiple SEC championships and earning multiple playoff appearances. However, Smart’s departure from Georgia marks the end of an era for the Bulldogs, as they now must find a new leader to continue their upward trajectory.

Auburn, known for its passionate fanbase and storied history in college football, had been searching for a new head coach after parting ways with Bryan Harsin earlier in the season. Despite several high-profile candidates being rumored, the Tigers ultimately landed Smart, whose pedigree and success made him an ideal candidate to return Auburn to its former glory.

Smart’s decision to leave Georgia for Auburn is especially surprising given the program’s recent success under his tenure. Many had expected him to continue to build upon Georgia’s championship-caliber teams and perhaps cement his legacy as one of the greatest coaches in college football history. However, it appears that Smart felt that his time at Georgia had come to an end, and he was eager to take on a new challenge with the Auburn Tigers.

Sources close to the situation have suggested that Smart’s decision was motivated by a desire for a fresh challenge and a chance to build a championship-winning program at Auburn, a school with a rich football history but one that has struggled to reach the same level of success as its rivals, such as Alabama and Georgia, in recent years. By signing a five-year contract with Auburn, Smart is committing to a long-term project, signaling his dedication to turning the Tigers into a perennial contender.

The announcement has left the Georgia Bulldogs in a state of uncertainty. As one of the most successful programs in college football under Smart’s leadership, they now face the challenge of finding a suitable replacement. Georgia athletic director Josh Brooks will have the difficult task of filling the void left by Smart, while ensuring that the Bulldogs remain competitive in the ultra-competitive SEC.

For Auburn, the hire of Smart is seen as a bold move to restore the program to prominence. With a wealth of talent already on the roster and Smart’s reputation as a master recruiter, many expect the Tigers to be serious contenders in the SEC in the coming seasons. The move is also seen as a direct challenge to Alabama, Georgia, and other top programs in the SEC, as Auburn looks to reclaim its position as a national powerhouse.

As the news continues to unfold, college football fans across the country will be watching closely to see how this seismic coaching change impacts both the Georgia Bulldogs and the Auburn Tigers in the years to come.

BREAKING NEWS:Top 2 SEC wide receiver target flips commitment to the Florida Gators, turning down offers from Florida State and Georgia Bulldogs…

In a surprising turn of events, one of the Southeastern Conference’s top wide receiver targets has flipped his commitment, choosing to join the Florida Gators over previously considered offers from Florida State and Georgia. This decision has sent shockwaves through the recruiting world, as the player was widely expected to commit to one of the other two powerhouse programs.

The wide receiver, ranked as one of the top prospects in the nation, had been a coveted recruit for several months, with Florida State and Georgia both heavily in pursuit of his talents. The Bulldogs, fresh off an impressive season and with a history of developing elite wide receivers, had positioned themselves as strong contenders. Likewise, Florida State, under the leadership of head coach Mike Norvell, had made significant strides on the recruiting trail and was hoping to add the playmaker to bolster their offensive attack.

However, despite the competition, the player ultimately decided that Gainesville and the Florida Gators were the right fit for his future. This decision is seen as a major win for head coach Billy Napier and the Gators’ recruiting efforts, particularly as they look to build a competitive roster in the highly competitive SEC. The Gators have shown promise under Napier’s leadership, and landing a top wide receiver like this is a crucial step toward building a high-powered offense.

The recruit, who has demonstrated a unique combination of speed, agility, and route-running precision, is expected to have an immediate impact for Florida. His ability to stretch the field and make explosive plays will complement the Gators’ offensive scheme, which is designed to capitalize on versatile playmakers. The wide receiver’s commitment will likely push Florida’s recruiting class higher in the rankings as well, reinforcing their position as a program on the rise.

This flip is especially significant given the recruiting battle that was waged between these elite programs. Florida State and Georgia both had strong cases to make, but ultimately, Florida’s blend of coaching staff, recent offensive improvements, and the chance to play in the SEC was too much to ignore. The Gators are building something special, and this commitment is seen as a sign of things to come in their quest to return to national prominence.

For Florida State and Georgia, this flip represents a tough loss, as both schools had invested considerable time and effort into recruiting the player. However, recruiting is an ever-changing landscape, and both programs will continue to search for other top-tier prospects to fill out their respective classes.

The Gators’ newest wide receiver will now focus on finishing his high school season strong before enrolling at Florida, where he is expected to compete for a significant role early in his college career. As the recruiting cycle continues, the ripple effects of this commitment will likely influence other high-profile recruits who may see Florida as a growing destination for top talent.

In the end, the flip of this top SEC wide receiver to the Florida Gators marks a major victory for Billy Napier’s program and sets the stage for a new chapter in the Gators’ football future.
